Jack London

Now that we are done with e-mailing the Iditarod mushers, we did a short study over Jack London, the author of the Call of the Wild. I've learned since Jack London was 8, he has been out in the "real world" working. He tried out college, but that really didn't work out. He also became a hobo and traveled across the U.S. and Canada. Jack London also searched for gold in the Klondike, where no one talked. In October, 1816, when he was 40 years old, he ended his life by over-dosing on medicine. He was married twice, and had two girls. When he remarried, he married a girl named Charmane. He also joined pirates, and he owned a boat named the Stark. It must have been really hard for him, especially if he commited suicide. Well, he had a pretty bad life if he had to get a job at age 8!
